- How it works
- Pick 5 numbers from 1 to 52 and a Star Ball from 1 to 10, which can be the same as one of your 5 numbers. Win with any match that includes the Star Ball, or with 3 or more of the 5 numbers. The 5 numbers match in any order.
- Jackpot
- The jackpot rolls over until a play matches all 5 numbers and the Star Ball, and winning plays share it equally. It usually starts at $2 million, but its starting amount and how fast it grows are set from sales and interest rates, with no fixed minimum. A winner chooses cash or an annuity: one payment now and 29 yearly payments, each 5% larger than the last. If a winning share's cash value is under $250,000, it may be paid in one cash payment instead.
- All Star Bonus
- A multiplier of 2X, 3X, 4X or 5X is drawn before each Lotto America drawing. With All Star Bonus, every prize below the jackpot is multiplied by it, up to $100,000 for matching all 5 numbers. It never multiplies the jackpot. The game can change the multipliers or their odds for limited promotions.
- Prizes
- Prizes below the jackpot are set amounts. If one drawing has so many winners that the prize money runs short, set prizes can be paid pari-mutuel and come out lower, starting with the highest, and All Star Bonus prizes are cut by the same percentage. Each play wins only its highest prize.
