    More Claim Rules

    Retailer Claim Centers
About 20 stores across Kent, Sussex and New Castle counties are Retailer Claim Centers, which cash prizes up to $2,500 in any mix of cash, check or money order. Agree on how you'll be paid before the ticket is validated: the payment can't be reversed.
    The paper ticket
Every claim needs the original paper ticket: a photo of a ticket isn't accepted. Signing the back makes you the ticket's owner for the prize, and once it's signed, that can't be changed or passed to anyone else.
    Cash or yearly payments
A Powerball, Mega Millions or Lotto America jackpot winner chooses cash or yearly payments when claiming the prize. The choice can't be made when the ticket is bought.
    Naming a beneficiary
Every jackpot winner must name a beneficiary. If a winner being paid yearly dies, the payments left go on, as scheduled, to the beneficiary or the winner's estate.
    Staying anonymous
Delaware law lets every winner stay anonymous. When you claim, you say whether the lottery may release your name or use your likeness for publicity, and it keeps your request. Winners of second-chance drawings are named.
    Tickets bought in Delaware
Powerball, Mega Millions and Lotto America tickets bought in Delaware can only be claimed in Delaware.
