- 3Bet 50¢ to $5, in 50¢ steps. Play slips offer 50¢ and $1; ask the clerk for more.
- 4Drawings are every evening. Choose how many in a row to play, up to 14.

- Straight
- Match all 3 digits in the exact order drawn.
- Box
- Match all 3 digits in any order. Minnesota calls a number with two digits the same, like 112, a 3-Way Box, and three different digits, like 123, a 6-Way Box: the fewer orders, the bigger the prize.
- Straight/Box
- Half your bet is a Straight and half a Box on the same number, so a $1 Straight/Box is a 50¢ Straight and a 50¢ Box. The exact order wins both prizes, and any other order wins the Box prize. Minnesota calls it Straight/3-Way Box or Straight/6-Way Box, and a Quick Pick is a $1 Straight/Box unless you ask for another bet.
- Front Pair
- Pick 2 digits. Win if they match the first 2 digits drawn, in exact order.
- Back Pair
- Pick 2 digits. Win if they match the last 2 digits drawn, in exact order.
- First Digit
- Pick 1 digit. Win if it matches the first digit drawn.
- Prizes
- Every Pick 3 prize is a set amount for each $1 bet: a 50¢ bet pays half the $1 prize, and a $5 bet five times it. Minnesota publishes the $1 prizes; the other bets' follow from them. The lottery can raise prizes for a while in a promotion.
- Liability limit
- Pick 3 pays set prizes, so the lottery can limit or stop bets on particular numbers to protect its prize structure. It doesn't publish a dollar limit.
