    More Claim Rules

    Debts owed to the state
Winners of $600 or more are checked by the Minnesota Department of Revenue for money owed to the state, and any debt is taken out of the prize.
    The last day to claim
Prizes must be claimed within one year of the drawing. For a prize of $600 or more, the year ends at the close of business on its last day that Lottery offices are open, which can be earlier if they close for a holiday or bad weather. A mailed claim counts from the day the lottery receives it.
    Multi-draw tickets
You don't have to wait for a multi-draw ticket's last drawing to cash a prize. The store or Lottery office prints a new ticket with the same numbers for the drawings left.
    EZ Match prizes
An EZ Match prize can be cashed at any store before the North 5 drawing, and you get a new ticket for the drawings left, without EZ Match numbers. If you wait until after the drawing, all the ticket's prizes are claimed together.
    Sharing a prize
People can share a prize only under an agreement made before the ticket was bought. Each of them fills in their own claim form, and the forms must agree. Otherwise the prize is paid to the person holding the ticket, or the name signed on its back.
