    Prizes of $10,000 or less

New Jersey doesn't tax New Jersey Lottery prizes of $10,000 or less. Each prize counts on its own, not the year's total, and a prize over $10,000 is taxed in full. This is the same for residents and nonresidents, and lottery winnings from other states are taxed whatever the amount.
