- How it works
- Pick 5 different numbers from 1 to 41 and a Megaball from 1 to 6. Win with 2 or more of the 5 numbers, or with 1 number and the Megaball. The 5 numbers match in any order. Matching the Megaball alone wins nothing.
- Jackpot
- The jackpot starts at $1 million and rolls over until a play matches all 5 numbers and the Megaball. Winning plays share it equally. A winner chooses one cash payment or an annuity of 30 graduated payments over 29 years. If a winner's share would pay less than $7,500 a year as an annuity, it's paid in one cash payment instead.
- Prizes
- Prizes below the jackpot are set cash amounts. In very rare cases, if a drawing's set prizes cost more than the money put aside for them, they're paid pari-mutuel and come out lower. Each play wins only its highest prize.
