- How it works
- Each $2 ticket has 15 sets of 4 numbers from 1 to 77: your Win for Life set, and 14 random sets the terminal adds, two for $50,000, four for $20,000 and eight for $10,000. Four numbers are drawn. All 4 in a set wins that set's top prize, 3 in any set $25 and 2 in any set $2, and a ticket with none of the numbers drawn in any of its sets wins $3.
- Prizes
- Every prize is a set amount, paid at once except the top prize. Each of a ticket's 15 sets wins only its highest prize, but one ticket can win on several sets, and a ticket with none of the 4 numbers drawn in any set wins $3. The top prize is $1,000 a week for life, or $52,000 once a year, as the winner chooses when claiming: weekly payments can switch to yearly, but not back. Payments stop when the winner dies, except that those due in the first five years go to the winner's beneficiary or estate, up to $260,000. With more than three top-prize winners in one drawing, they share $156,000 a year equally. Only one person can own a top-prize ticket, claimed in person at Lottery headquarters in Salem, and the winner sends the Lottery a notarized affidavit each year that they're living.
