    More Claim Rules

    Debts owed to the state
Before paying a prize of $600 or more, the Lottery checks for money owed to the State of Oregon, like child support, and takes it out of the prize first.
    Jackpots and top prizes
A Megabucks jackpot or a Win for Life top prize of $1,000 a week for life is claimed in person at Lottery headquarters in Salem. A winning draw ticket of $50,000 or more can't be paid until the Lottery business day after it was bought.
    Advance Play tickets
You can claim a prize before the last drawing on a ticket for several drawings. You get an exchange ticket for the drawings left.
    Who can claim
The Lottery pays prizes only to people, not to a business, club or other group. Winners sharing a prize each sign the Lottery's Request to Divide and Release form when claiming, and each gets at least $1. Retailers can't pay a shared prize.
    Selling a winning ticket
Oregon law doesn't allow selling or buying a winning ticket, or paying someone to claim a prize for you.
    Tickets bought in Oregon
You don't have to live in Oregon to win, as long as the ticket was bought in Oregon.
    Prizes at retailers
Any Oregon Lottery retailer can pay a prize of up to $600, but some limit the hours they pay the full $600.
