- How it works
- Pick 5 different numbers from 1 to 35. Match 2 to 5 of the 5 numbers drawn, in any order, to win.
- Jackpot
- The jackpot is at least $20,000 and grows each drawing it isn't won, until a play matches all 5 numbers. Winning plays share it equally, and it's paid in one cash payment, with no annuity.
- Prizes
- Prizes for matching 2, 3 or 4 numbers are set amounts. If a drawing's set prizes cost more than the money set aside for them, the lottery makes up the rest from its reserves, so they're paid in full. Each play wins only its highest prize.
- EZ Match
- EZ Match prints five numbers, each with a prize, below your Dakota Cash numbers when you buy. If an EZ Match number matches one of your own Dakota Cash numbers, in any order, you win the prize printed next to it right away, whatever the drawing brings. Each play with EZ Match prints on its own ticket, which can't be canceled. You can cash an EZ Match prize at any retailer before or after the drawing; cash it before, and you get an exchange ticket for the drawing.
