    More Claim Rules

    Prizes of $200,000 or more
Prizes of $200,000 or more must be claimed at the Nashville Headquarters & Claim Center. Prizes over $200,000 can be paid by bank transfer: bring a voided check or deposit slip, or a letter from your bank with the account's name and number and the bank's routing number.
    Debts owed to the state
Before paying a prize of $600 or more, the lottery takes out any debt over $100 owed to the state, such as to the Department of Revenue, child support, public benefits, TennCare or education assistance.
    Group winners
The lottery issues one check for a prize, to one person or to one corporation, partnership, trust or estate. A group sharing a prize names one claimant and brings IRS Form 5754 listing everyone, and each member is subject to withholding, debt setoff and the ID requirements.
    Winners' names
A winner's name, city, county and state, and the amount won, are public records the lottery can release. It doesn't release a winner's street address or phone number.
When you can cash a prize
Tennessee Cash and Daily Tennessee Jackpot prizes can be cashed from 5 a.m. CT the day after the drawing. A Quick Cash prize can be cashed as soon as the ticket prints.
    Advance Play tickets
If you cash a ticket that still has drawings left, the retailer prints an exchange ticket for the rest. Make sure you get it before you leave the store.
    Claiming by mail
Sign the ticket and mail the original, with a claim form and copies of your ID and proof of Social Security number for a prize of $600 or more. For a smaller prize, include your name and contact details. Registered mail is encouraged: the lottery isn't responsible for tickets lost in the mail.
Prizes won in the TN iLottery app
Powerball, Mega Millions, Cash 3, Cash 4 and KENO To Go can also be bought in the TN iLottery app. Prizes under $600 won there go straight into your account. For $600 or more, take a photo ID, proof of your Social Security number and a claim form to a district office: there's no ticket to bring.
