    More Claim Rules

    Bank claim centers
In the northern Lower Peninsula and the Upper Peninsula, some banks serve as claim centers and process claims up to $99,999.99. The Lottery's FAQ lists them.
    Self-serve machines
Lottery self-serve machines in stores take winning tickets up to $500 as credit toward new tickets.
    Debts owed to the state
Before paying a prize of $1,000 or more, the Lottery checks for debts owed to the state, like back taxes, child support or unemployment benefits to repay, and pays those out of the prize first, up to all of it.
    Keeping your name private
Michigan law keeps the name and address of a winner of more than $10,000 private unless the winner agrees in writing. Winners of multi-state games like Powerball and Mega Millions can be named where those games' rules require it.
    Annuity prizes
Prizes with yearly payments, like a Lotto 47 jackpot, are claimed at Lottery Headquarters in Lansing: call Player Relations at 844-917-6325 first. A winner has 60 days to choose a cash payment instead, and the choice can't be undone.
    Tickets bought online
Prizes on tickets bought at michiganlottery.com or in the app go into your Lottery account up to $600. From $600.01 to $99,999.99, you submit an online claim, and from $100,000 you submit one and then claim in person at Headquarters. Online prizes are paid in whole dollars.
    Group wins
A lottery club claims with a Substitute 5754 form instead of a Ticket Receipt Form, listing every member who shares the prize. For $1,000 or more, each member's photo ID and Social Security card are needed too.
