- 1Pick 4 digits from 0 to 9, or 2 for a pair, or ask for a Quick Pick.
- 2Choose Straight, Box, Straight/Box, Combo, or a Front, Mid or Back Pair.
- 3Choose a base play of 50¢, $1, $2, $3, $4 or $5. Prizes grow with it.
- 4Add FIREBALL if you like. It doubles the cost.
- 5Choose Morning, Day, Evening or Night drawings, for up to 24 in a row.

- Exact Order
- Match all 4 digits in the exact order drawn. Texas also calls it Exact Order.
- Any Order
- Match all 4 digits in any order. Texas also calls it Any Order. How many orders your number has sets the prize: 1112 is 4-way, 1122 is 6-way, 1123 is 12-way and 1234 is 24-way. A number like 1111 can only be played Straight.
- Exact/Any Order
- A Straight and a Box on the same number, each at the base play, so a 50¢ base play costs $1. The exact order wins both prizes, and any other order wins the Box prize. A number like 1111 can't be played this way.
- Combo
- A Straight on every order of your digits, each at the base play: from 4 plays for a 4-way number to 24 for a 24-way, so a 50¢ 24-way Combo costs $12. Whichever order is drawn wins one Straight prize.
- Front Pair
- Pick 2 digits. Win if they match the first 2 digits drawn, in exact order.
- Mid Pair
- Pick 2 digits. Win if they match the second and third digits drawn, in exact order.
- Back Pair
- Pick 2 digits. Win if they match the last 2 digits drawn, in exact order.
- Fireball
- One FIREBALL digit from 0 to 9 is drawn after each Daily 4 drawing. It replaces each of the 4 winning digits in turn to make new winning numbers, while your numbers stay the same. Each one your play matches is a FIREBALL win, paid on top of any base prize, so one play can win more than once. FIREBALL doubles the cost of the play it's added to and can't be bought alone.
- Prizes
- Every Daily 4 prize is a fixed amount set by the base play: a $1 play pays twice what a 50¢ play does, up to ten times for $5. Straight/Box and Combo cost more than the base play, because they're several plays in one.
- Advance Play
- You can buy plays for any of the next 24 drawings, or for up to 24 in a row of one draw time, like 24 Night drawings.
