    More Claim Rules

    Jackpots claimed at Headquarters
A Powerball or Mega Millions jackpot must be claimed at Lottery Headquarters in Jefferson City. Every other prize over $600, a MO Millions jackpot included, can be claimed at any Lottery office, by appointment.
    Cash or yearly payments
A MO Millions, Powerball or Mega Millions jackpot winner has 60 days from claiming to choose cash, about half the advertised jackpot, or 30 yearly payments. Without a choice in 60 days, the prize is paid yearly.
    Exchange tickets
You can cash a winning EZ Match play, or a prize on a Multi-Draw ticket, before the ticket's last drawing. The store prints an exchange ticket for the drawings left.
    Tickets bought in Missouri
Powerball, Mega Millions and Powerball Xs & Os prizes on tickets bought in Missouri must be claimed in Missouri.
    Group wins
A group can share a prize. Each member fills in a claim form, giving how many people are claiming and, if the prize isn't split equally, the amount they're claiming. Each member of a group that wins a jackpot can choose cash or yearly payments.
    Debts owed
A prize can be reduced to pay back child support, unpaid hospital and health care bills, and debts owed to a county jail. A prize that federal tax is withheld from can also go toward debts owed to the state.
    Staying anonymous
By law, the Lottery doesn't publish a winner's name, address or other identifying details unless the winner agrees in writing, and you don't have to agree to claim a prize.
