    Any M&T Bank branch in Vermont pays Powerball, Mega Millions, Tri-State Megabucks, Gimme 5, Pick 3 and Pick 4 prizes of $500 to $5,000, with a claim form and ID, on weekdays until 4 p.m. For Millionaire for Life and Powerball Xs & Os prizes of that size, the Lottery's pages say to contact it for other claim centers.
    Large prizes
    Claiming a prize over $25,000 in person at Vermont Lottery Headquarters takes an appointment. Powerball, Mega Millions and Tri-State Megabucks jackpots must be claimed there, with the signed ticket, a claim form and ID.
    Cash or yearly payments
    Powerball, Mega Millions and Tri-State Megabucks jackpot winners have 60 days after the Lottery validates their ticket to choose one cash payment or 30 graduated yearly payments over 29 years. The choice is final, and a winner who doesn't choose gets the yearly payments. Millionaire for Life top and second prize winners make a final choice of cash or yearly payments within 60 days of becoming entitled to the prize.

    No Vermont Lottery winner can stay anonymous: the name, town and prize amount on the claim form are public information. A group or a trust can claim a prize, and a trust's name is then the one made public.
