    More Claim Rules

    Multi-state games
Powerball, Mega Millions, Lotto America and Millionaire for Life prizes must be claimed in the state where the ticket was bought, so tickets bought in Idaho are claimed in Idaho.
    Debts owed to the state
A prize can be held back to pay overdue child support, state taxes or public assistance owed. The claim form asks for your Social Security number to check for them.
    Group wins
When two or more people claim one ticket, each fills in and signs a claim form with their share of the prize, the shares adding up to 100%, and at least one signs the ticket. Shares can't be changed once the form is in. A club or other group can claim under its federal employer identification number instead. Prizes shared this way are paid only by the Lottery office in Boise.
    Your name
The lottery may use winners' names, cities and photos in its publicity, and can make agreeing to that a condition of payment. It doesn't publish your street address without your consent. You can ask the Lottery Director in writing for an exception.
    Claiming by mail
Registered mail is recommended. Keep copies of the claim form and both sides of the ticket, and don't cut, staple or damage it. Overnight deliveries go to Idaho Lottery, 1199 Shoreline Lane, Suite 100, Boise, ID 83702. A claim form with anything left blank is sent back.
    Cash or yearly payments
A jackpot winner has 60 days after presenting the winning ticket to choose cash or yearly payments. Once made, the choice is binding unless the Idaho Lottery Commission approves a change.
