    More Claim Rules

    Debts owed to the state
Before paying a prize of $600 or more, the lottery checks whether the winner owes the state a debt, delinquent taxes or past-due child support, and pays those out of the prize first.
    Several prizes on one ticket
When several plays on one ticket win, their prizes are added together to decide where the ticket can be cashed. If they come to $600 or more, claim at a Prize Payment Center or by mail.
    EZmatch prizes
An EZmatch prize can be claimed as soon as you buy the ticket, before the drawing. The store gives you an exchange ticket with the same numbers, which still plays the drawing.
    Group wins
The lottery can pay up to 99 people sharing a prize separately. One of them signs the ticket and the claim form for the group, the group fills in IRS Form 5754, and everyone is paid the same way.
    Claiming by mail
Mail the signed ticket, the original signed claim form and, for $600 or more, a copy of your photo ID to Hoosier Lottery Headquarters. Several tickets that come to $599 or less can go on one claim form. For more than $599, the lottery suggests a tracked service such as UPS, FedEx or USPS Certified Mail: it isn't responsible for lost tickets.
